Bell, Cheryl

Cheryl Bell has been the school nurse at Ida B. Wells for two years. Growing up in the California Bay Area she played volleyball and was a catcher on her school’s softball team. Bell attended San Francisco State where she continued to play softball and majored in nursing. In her early career years Bell worked at a collection of small elementary schools and at Jackson, a local middle school. Bell says that “My favorite part of working at Wells is the older kids. They are more mature and easy to communicate with.” She enjoys creating meaningful connections with students about their healthcare and talking them through hardships. When she is not at school, she is gardening. Bell has a beautiful home garden where her plants include vegetables, perennial plants, and her most recent addition are shrubs.
