Campeau, Matthew

Matthew Campeau

Matthew Campeau has been steadily teaching Political Economics and Ethnic Studies at Ida B. Wells for 11 years. Campeau was born in Detroit, Michigan, where he acquired his undergraduate degree. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with his Bachelor's degree. Following that, he attended Portland State and obtained his Master’s in Teaching. His drive for teaching stemmed from many things, but majoring in sociology solidified his choice. He’s taught internationally in three countries, including New Mexico, Cambodia and Hong Kong. Aside from school, Campeau enjoys many outside activities, including hiking, camping, backpacking and golfing. When asked why he chose this subject and career, he stated, “I like learning too… I like sharing my love of learning with students. I hope my passion for my subjects emerge[s] through my classes.”
