Kathy Lommen

Katherine Lommen works as a counselor in the main office. She grew up in West Linn and attended West Linn High School. She participated in gymnastics and ran track. Her main event was the 4x4 and the high jump. After high school, she moved to Connecticut to attend Yale, majoring in Psychology. After college, she worked in the alcohol business and later was a stay-at-home mom for 15 years. If she could have any job she would like to work in advertising. Lommen has worked at Ida B. Wells for four years and enjoys the school environment. She especially likes the work schedule and the benefits. Her kids attend IBW and participate in various sports, including basketball, which she enjoys watching in her free time. She also enjoys rock climbing, traveling and watching the Oscars. During the Oscar Awards, she likes to hang out with her friends and vote on who will win. She always aims to create a better environment. “My personal motto is to leave it better than you found it,” says Lommen.
