Juan Medina

Juan Medina is the Attendance Coach at Ida B. Wells. This year is his second year working at this role. Medina’s work directly focuses on helping students improve their attendance and bettering their education and school environment. “Whether [a student] is missing for health reasons or other reasons, we identify that barrier first, then try to figure out a plan to work with or around it so that [they are] able to show up,” says Medina, in explaining his role at the school. Outside of his work, Medina likes spending time with his kids.
