Lisa Morrell

Lisa Morrell started at Ida B. Wells High School as an English teacher in the fall of 2023 but has worked for Portland Public Schools since 1998. She started as a para-educator and worked for DART schools made for teen moms and women in state custody. Before working in education, she worked with the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation and worked at vocational programs for people with disabilities. Morrell grew up in Portland and enjoys spending time with her daughter, watching movies, and reading books. She attended Portland State University and Lewis and Clark College, majoring in English for her undergrad and education for her master’s. When it comes to inspiration, Morell’s daughter and students are her biggest ones. Lisa is such an amazing addition to IBW, and we are beyond thankful she can join us and work to help students succeed.
