Petraglia, Tony

Tony Petraglia

Tony Petraglia has been teaching for 10 years, and is currently in his seventh year teaching chemistry at Ida B. Wells High School. He grew up just outside of Denver, Colorado and went on to study chemical engineering at Colorado State. After college, he became a process engineer at Intel, then opened Breakside brewery for two years. Recognizing that he needed a change, he thought back to what he initially wanted to do in college. “I always thought about being a teacher, so why don’t I do that,” says Petraglia. At IBW, he likes teaching chemistry, his colleagues and his students, but if he weren’t an educator, he would run a traveling food cart. He enjoys cooking, running and video games outside of the classroom.
